The only people that do not think the death penalty is a deterrent are people that also think we are harsh to our beloved criminals. The same people that think inmates are treated too poorly and need cable television and a Jacuzzi in their cells. These are the same people that fight tooth and nail to get bad people parole to be free to do what they do best - ravage, rape, maim, pilfer, and murder.

The fact is, we don't see enough executions on television so thugs can see what they are in for. Crime is running amuck all over the world and the only cause for this is because we are too light on crimes. A slap on the wrist is not enough to deter, and if these animals do not see any cause for alarm then why shouldn't they take the easier road, which is robberies and murder?

The punishments for crimes should not be luxury, playtime in the yard, television, and a weekend at the spa. One four-by-four cell with a toilet is all they get. If you know what you are in for, then you will think twice.

When we had an obvious death penalty, crime was down - they thought twice. Life in prison is good also, as long as it isn't a vacation spa. Criminals need to know they are in the deep end and not going to a better way of living. If they didn't want to be treated like a rabid dog then they should have thought twice. Some people living everyday the way they should - prim and proper, can't make ends meet, and the jailbird is living high on the hog. Kill them if that fits the crime. An eye for an eye.
