Want to pay big bucks for bath lotion? Does it make you feel really good to spend half your pay cheque on a bottle of aftershave for your husband or boyfriend? Well, go for it if it feels good, but you can get these little personal luxuries for little or no money. On top of that, they would be homemade by you!
This article is a continuation of one of mine that appears in the natural skin care section, and ends with, "Just pennies, just natural." These words are also fitting for both of these recipes. Don't miss the one for after-shave at the bottom!

Scented bath lotion can be made by adding one half cup each of mint, lemon balm, rosemary and lavender to one quart of rubbing alcohol or witch hazel. Put into a closed jar and let steep for a couple of weeks in a sunny location. Shake every day. The colour will turn a nice green and the lotion will be fragrant. Rub on after bathing.
The day of this writing is October 25th, two months to the day before Christmas. This would make a nice gift. Added decorative touches could be added, like waxing over the stopper and tieing on some raphia or seasonal decorations. Enjoy it yourself, and share with a friend or loved one.
Have you noticed that homemade luxuries are always for women? If there any men on your gift-giving list or that you just want to pamper, there is something for them as well.
To make after-shave lotion, add one ounce dried lavender flowers and one ounce sage to two cups of witch hazel. Place in a tightly closed jar and sit in a very warm area for a week. Strain and rebottle.
Just pennies, just natural - for both sexes!
