Wiccan pride

higher, good power. If you are following a dark path you are not a Wiccan.

Wicca does not denounce the good. Wicca simply preaches a respect and devotion to nature and the four physical elements (earth, air, fire, water). Some Wiccans choose to worship the deities of the God and Goddess. Both of these deities are good and promote positivity. The main "scripture" or rule that Wiccans follow is "Lest ye harm none, do as ye will". This quote is the equivalent of "Do unto others, as you would have done unto you". This is a concept that is taught to Christians as well.

If one were to take an objective look at Christianity and Wicca they would find that there are many similarities. So why is it that Wiccans are suppressed and hated? With this in mind, I would like to call upon all Christians: The Baptists, the Catholics, the Protestants, and any other religion that follows Christ. Cast aside your hate and prejudice against Wiccans; and all Pagan religions for that matter. I am not attacking any Christian faith, in fact, I truly respect the strong devotion many Christians show for their religion and their God. However, Christians of all denominations have perpetuated the myths and prejudices against Wiccans for far too long. Therefore, I challenge the entire Christian community, and any other religion that denounces my faith and my people, to overcome the myths and lies you have been taught about Wicca, and help make this world a less hate-filled place for people of all faiths to enjoy. Everyone has the right to feel safe, practicing the spiritual path they see is right for them.

Simply put, it's ignorance and a closed mind that create these stereotypes Wiccans must face; and, we as Wiccans need to stand together against it. If you are subjected to hate simply because you're a Wiccan, do not turn blindly away from it. Stand up for yourself and the religion you have chosen! Educate people about what it is that Wicca is really about! Above all else, be proud of yourself and the spiritual path you have chosen to follow!

This world needs more pride. Pride in one's self : Pride in where you've come from, who you are and where you're going in life. There is so much hate in this world. It's time to fight against it. Wicca, specifically, needs its followers to start being vocal about Wicca and its teachings. Wicca needs its followers to come out of the "broom closet". Wiccans need to let people know that we exist, we're good people and above all else we are proud of our spiritual path! We need to educate people about what our religion is about. We need to fight against the persecution we face as Wiccans. We need to break free of the secrecy we've adopted for survival as a result of this persecution. Wicca is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of. It is a religion; and, like any other religion, Wicca deserves to be recognized and respected!

So be proud of who you are and the spiritual path you follow. Don't hide your pentacle beneath your shirt. Wear it on the outside and walk with your head high. You're a Wiccan! Be proud of it, and show everyone else that persecution has no place in this world. Hate is a useless emotion and we, as Wiccans, are strong enough to unite against it! Blessed be!"
