NO! The only reason that Americans don't do them is because the immigrants are here. If they left - then Americans would have to do the jobs! And the jobs would get done! And just for the sake of this argument I'm going to assume that we are talking about illegal immigrants - because if we are talking about legal immigrants, they are either Americans anyway, or they followed proper channels to come here and deserve the right to work in America.

Do illegal immigrants really do the jobs Americans don't want? I'd say it's more like they high-jacked our labor from us by undercutting the wages and then told US we don't want the jobs. It's probably more accurate to say, the employers don't want us because we ask for fair wages!

To say that American's don't want the jobs is foolish. If the illegal immigrants were not here, then jobs would pay more. Of course prices would go up - but so would wages! If wages go up we can afford more. To say that we as a society could not survive without them here is fodder for the illegal immigrant fire - it has no merit and should not be allowed as an excuse.

I personally would not mind working in the fields occasionally, but I can't. The cost of living is higher than what I could earn in the fields picking grapes. The illegal immigrants from South of the border tend to live in multiple family arrangements. As Americans we are expected (by society) to do it all on our own. Not only that, but the homes that most of these people can afford - are not places that I would want to live, and if the illegal immigrants could afford better they wouldn't want to live there either.
