Your childhood friend's Husband sounds very much like my Son who is 35yrs, I'm sorry to say, all his life I have been there for him, even given him money when he has lied to me about his situation. I would never really admit it to myself because I loved him so much, he has been involved in drugs, and now a gun man is chasing him because he cheated the drug dealers, so he begged me to help him, he was crying and in a state and I felt sorry for him, I gave him some money to leave the city. He hasn't contacted me as I asked him to, and I was fearing the worst, when I received a phone call to say my Son didn't leave the area, after I gave him money to protect himself. I hate to say this but now I have to cut the apron strings finally, as this type of behavior has been going on for years. How can a Son do this to the Mother, and the only one in his life who has been there for him. This is for any Mother's who have a Son such as mine, do not put up with Son's who steals from you and gets into drugs, when this happens they are incapable of returning any love you may give, all they want is your money to pay for their drugs. I wish I hadn't lied to myself all these years, as it almost destroyed me. Not any more, I now see the true Son standing before me as a liar and a thief, and this should not be tolerated by anyone even if it breaks your heart to admit it to yourself.
