Time management tips for college athletes

Being a college athlete is a very tough yet rewarding accomplishment. When your a college athlete you not only have to deal with all the stresses class that class has on your mind but you have to deal with stress that your sport puts on your body. As a college athlete a typical day might start out at five in the morning with conditioning and team runs till around seven giving you enough time to shower get a bite to eat and get to your first class. Depending on a persons schedule these classes can range off and on until one or two in the afternoon. Once done with school for the day the typical athlete gets to look forward to another more intense practice that leads them all the way to dinner time at the cafeteria. After dinner the typical athlete has enough time to once again shower and get their school work ready for study hall. After study hall the typical athlete may finally have some leisure time to do with however they please. Being in college this may involve video games, hanging out with friends or the occasional drink. Yet with a college athlete this leisure time, no matter what time in the day has been known to be a perfect nap time.

If a person looks to become a college athlete and survive the four or five years doing so there are a couple of ways that they can make it easier on themselves. the first method is to always go to class! No matter how tired you may be from practice or lack of sleep class is always the most important thing. If you go to class and at least try you should always be able to pass with at least a C. Teachers know how stressful the life of a college athlete is and most respect it. Therefore if you as an athlete respect the teacher and always show up to class they will do what they can to make sure you pass. The next thing a college athlete can do to make their life easier is to make use of your team mates knowledge. Always look to older team mates for help with classes or any kind of advice about teachers or tests. When on the road these team mates can help you study and help you learn materials that they have already been over. When on the road and without any sort of tutor a team mate can be a savior. The next thing that is very important to a student athlete is SLEEP! Without sleep an athlete can't function in the class room or on the field; therefore any nap an athlete can take is vital. Even if for twenty or thirty minutes power naps are a crucial and important part of making it through the day. Finally the last technique
