Two souls destined to be together, separated for thirty years, only to be reunited once again. This is the story of Edgar and Diane, two soul mates who found each other after being separated since they were less than a year old. Their first encounter had been when they were just babies; Diane was the oldest at five months old, Edgar at two months.
It was early fall 1972 the first time their paths crossed. They sat side by side in their baby swings, basking in the warm southern California sunshine as their mommies chatted and gently rocked their swings. Diane and Edgar's families lived in the same apartment complex, Edgar's family had moved in a week before they met. Edgar's mom joked one day about Diane being Edgar's first girlfriend as she snapped a picture of the two babies side by side in their swings. Their afternoon dates remained a daily event for several weeks before Diane's family moved away. It would be thirty years before their paths would cross again.
Diane sat in the coffee house; she looked up from her magazine and glanced about the room as she sipped her cappuccino. After chatting online for a little over a year through a popular role-playing game, she finally gave in and agreed to meet over coffee. It was out of character for Diane to provide any information about herself to anyone she met online while escaping the daily stress of her life. Something was different though, from the first day he said hello to her she felt as though she had known him all her life. They both marveled at how much they had in common. They had their differences too, but for the most part they enjoyed all the same interests.
"I know it in my heart, you are my soul mate." Edgar said to her one evening while they were online. "Something brought us together that day we met. We were meant to be together, and I know you feel it too."
With that said, she finally agreed to meet. A wave of emotions rushed over her as she anxiously awaited his arrival at the coffee shop. She was excited and nervous at the same time. They had exchanged photos and talked several times on the phone before they agreed to meet. She tried to relax and focus on her magazine, but she just couldn't suppress the emotions welling up within her as dozens of thoughts raced through her mind. As quickly as the thoughts had rushed into her mind, they suddenly vanished.
Diane looked up as the bells on the coffee shop door gently jingled. Every thought, every fear, every worry instantly drained from her body as he
