Inquiring minds want to know. That's what I've heard in my messages these last few days. Well, I'll tell you. I'm in East Tawas. My sister and her family live here have for over 18 years. I've visited here many times but this week it was a different kind of visit. This is a "look around do you want to move here" type of one. I need a change I've needed one for a very long time so my trip up here was much more insightful then it ever was in the past I actually looked around while I made my way up, taking in the scenery, thinking and wondering what it would be like to not have to come here but live here.
How we look at things will change, due to the circumstances surrounding them. I've always known that it takes me three hours to get here, where most people can make it in 2 . I'm just one of those drivers who follow the speed limit signs and since I have unlimited CD's burned just waiting to be played I'm OK with going 70. Actually, I'd prefer 65 but I get too many middle fingers so I pacify and go with the flow.
My trip up here this time was very different. It was a trip that needed to be looked at each mile because I may soon not see all that I took for granted each time I'd come up for the weekend.

It's not that Livonia doesn't offer Jerky you just don't see it advertised on the side of I-96. I don't even like Jerky I'm not sure if it's because of how it's made or the name itself.
I know you can't truly appreciate the scenery until fall.driving up here then is one of the most beautiful trips ever. Michigan, with its Fall colors is something only God can create. My sister would often call me in the city to tell me her trees were already changing when mine still stood waiting.
With the CD's playing in the background, thanks to my subscription to Napster, I not only got the visual, but quite often the audio went along with what I saw. However, it wasn't until I exited at Standish that I would find how coincidental the scenery and my music would be.
I always find that the drive from Standish to Tawas seems longer then driving from Livonia to that point. I know I'm near so it seems to take forever to finally get to my sisters. You're teased by seeing water,
