Five Indicators It Is Time for a New Computing System

Ever wonder what is going on when your computer system begins acting peculiar? Perhaps if you recognize certain symptoms and signs as indicative of potential problems in the near future. For instance, no matter how unused or overused, there are certain telltale signs that indicate poor health. If you happen to notice any of the following specific behaviors on a regular basis, it may be time to begin shopping for a new system. Just as anything else in life, proper planning can avoid serious disaster. In respect to computing systems, whether it be hardware or software related, preparing to purchase a replacement system is always a good idea. Most importantly, once these symptoms appear, you are encouraged to back up all files and folders which you believe are important. Obviously, while it is still alive, powering up, and working you may believe there is no urgency to run out and buy a new system-no matter how much you really want one. These indicators listed, however, absolutely signify your situation is a matter of sooner, rather than later, in respect to entertaining the shopping idea.

5 Signs you need a new computing system:

1. You hear suspicious noise coming from the hard drive area. This noise may be associated with some type of winding sound. You wonder if you should be concerned.

2. After weeks of hearing the winding noise, all of a sudden your computer makes a sound such as a "Snap" or "POP"!

3. A fragrance of burning metal and hard plastic fills the room immediately following the abrupt sound. Now, no matter what rescue or system disk you try, your system will not respond.

4. You no longer hear the winding noise, in fact, you hear nothing. You feel your system has sufficiently flat lined and you wonder if you are watching the computer, or if it is watching you.

5. You begin to recognize the suspicious noise, familiar winding sound, and suddent abrupt noise are all related to the fragrance still lingering in the atmosphere.

You attempt to find either humor or something positive in the loss and suddently it dawns on you that you get to shop for a new computing system. Congratulations, you now know what that winding sound meant and next time will remember to back up those much needed files.
