Any change is as good as a holiday-whether returning from a short break away, maybe just out of town or homebound from an exotic far off location- feeling rejuvenated and recharged, is the feeling all of us aim to achieve from time away.but what do you do when those post holiday blue's set in and reality faces you head on? Bills, work, dates and deadlines all add to the frustration.
I have always enjoyed taking lots of photographs whenever I travel and wherever I feel connected to a particular place- a photograph for me, is more than a moment in time- it is a "stamp" of profound power, which can convey the energy and joy back to me over and over again. Once I have returned home, one of the first activities I set out doing is placing these photo's around my house ,where I know I will pass frequently to remind me(when I am feeling low, frustrated and sad) of the happy times I have just enjoyed- the power of a photograph is immense and it can make your soul 'sing'!
Another positive way in which to keep my spirits alive after having been away, is to start planning my next 'adventure'- keeping my mind clear and enthused, just by reading up on a particular place I have always wanted to visit informs and excites me and sets the wheels in motion for the planning of my next break away.
I think it is equally important in finding hobbies and interests in your every day existence which can inspire you and keep you passionate about life- so that once you return from holiday ,the drop in emotion of feeling fantastic is not drastic and you can keep a happy medium , in your everyday life.
As people are different, so to the number of ways to keep your chin up during the post holiday blue's- these suggestions are merely the ways I cope in the situation and knowing that there are a multitude of new and exciting adventures to be had, out there, is comforting to me and keeps me continually inspired.....
