How to improve your earnings and traffic to Helium with links

Interested in boosting your earnings, traffic to your pages and helping our site at the same time? This brief article will explain how. And it's as simple as rethinking how you link.

How you use links and where they come from affects traffic and your earnings. The goal is to link in from popular websites, blogs and other places that don't require you to log in. Linking from sites like these is more valuable than linking from sites such as MySpace and Facebook, although they still help boost your article traffic.

And remember, when linking be sure to use the entire URL, not just a portion of it.

Here is a list of the top Internet places you want to try to LINK FROM, the best being at the top:
1. Non-profit and academic websites ending in .edu, .org or .gov.
2. Mainstream press sites, such as newspapers, magazines, and online journals and newsletters.
3. Corporate and private websites.
4. Personal websites (yours, your friends, your family...).
5. Blogs.

Here is a list of places in Helium you want to LINK TO, the best being number
1. An article (yours or someone else's you like).
2. An article list, such as pages that list all the articles to a particular title.
3. A debate list, such as pages that list debate articles supporting one side or the other. (Not debate side-by-side pages.)
4. Your About Me page either writer or articles view.
5. A specific sub-channel of interest, such as Internet Trends or Beading & Jewelry Making.

Websites that are NOT optimal to link from:
1. Wikipedia
2. Websites that require logins

Final point: Don't spam any single website with lots of links.
