The modeling industry is a very large and prominent entity that has over a million models who come from various backgrounds and ethnicities. It's not a local business; it's a worldwide conglomerate that stands robust in many countries - from the United States to France, from Italy to Brazil, and so forth. The modeling industry generates millions of dollars, if not billions.

So the question walks down the runway beautifully and poses: If there were a Hall of Fame for models, who should be inducted? Rightfully so, some obvious selections would be as follows: Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Kimora Lee Simmons, Gisele Bundchen, Selita Ebanks, Alek Wek, Bridget Hall, Alessandra Ambrosio, Liya Kebede, and other supermodels.

Models are plentiful and beautiful in their own way, so it's rather difficult to select one. However, one model that instantly comes to mind stands alone from the rest. She may not be as famous as Tyra or Heidi or other supermodels, but she is famous in her own right. And yes, she is very well-known.

She is in her late twenties, but carries a face of a younger woman. She stands at 5'7" and weighs respectably. Her physique is curvaceous but lean, and her skin resonates a chocolate complexion. Her striking long authentic hair usually reclines on her shoulders and complements her face nicely. She is multiracial and describes herself accordingly: Half Black + Half Asian = Amazing.

She is none other than Tomika. Tomika who? Tomika Skanes.

Tomika made her presence into this world on August 21, 1978 in Columbus, Georgia. She comes from a diverse background: her mom is Korean and her father is African American. They crossed path in Seoul, Korea where her father, who served in the military, was stationed. Thereafter, they bore three children, Tomika being the only girl and the middle child.

Her father's military assignment caused a constant environmental change as her family traveled to various army bases worldover. In 1989, they found a permanent home in Atlanta, Georgia where Tomika currently resides.

Tomika's modeling career began in 2000 with the keen eyes of a scout at the age of 22, while attending a Hawks basketball game. From then on, she has remained a permanent fixture in the modeling industry. Not only has she been an amazing addition to the industry, but she has also made a name for herself in other industries.
