themselves with a stymieing defense, and an offense no one truly appreciated because it lacked anyone on it you knew anything about.
Now that we're seeing what Tom Brady can do with guys like Welker, Moss, Stallworth, and Watson, we can really acknowledge what he did in years past with guys like Caldwell, Patten, and Givens. They've always looked to have everything on the right page in Foxborough, but this year it's even scarier than ever because the words on that page are big and have lots of syllables. (I get it. It wasn't the best analogy ever, but you'll deal with it. There are only so many ways I can say a team flat out kicks the tar out of anyone it plays, so I have to get creative.)
The teams in recent memory that really come close to what the Pats have done in the 2000's would have to be the three-peat Lakers of 2000, 2001, and 2002, or the San Antonio Spurs of the past decade. The Lakers had issues all over though, and you knew an end was coming, you just didn't know how long they could milk their luck for, while the Spurs are just kind of an anomaly. They're always around, but they don't really strike fear into you until they choose to. Since the Brady era, the Pats have only really missed out on one year. They've always been around, and they've always been dangerous, but now they're just lethal with no end in sight.
Now it's only fair to tell you what song matches the description I was referencing at the top of the article. Well it was "Big Girls Don't Cry" by California State Spelling Bee Champion Fergie. The sad thing is I'll probably get more emails complaining about why I don't like the song than about how my Pats assessment is totally wrong. Did I forget to mention that 2007 New England Patriots are scary? Well they are.
