I don't believe that the addition of Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett will enable the Celtics to win the championship in the upcoming season. In fact, I still think they are a few years away from accomplishing this feat at best. While the triple threat of Pierce, Garnett, and Allen have all averaged 20 plus points per game throughout their respective careers, the rest of the scoring contribution on this team kind of falls off after that and you have to a balanced attack even in the Eastern Conference in order to contend for the championship or even for a playoff spot. While I do admire the Bulls have been making over the years and a fan of LeBron James and the Cavaliers, I will have to agree with another fellow writer by stating that the Detroit Pistons are the most balanced team in the East and probably have the best chance of making a deep run in the playoffs despite the fact that they were knocked out of Eastern Conference Finals last year by the Cavaliers last year. They are the first team since the Bulls (89-93) to advance to five consecutive Eastern Conference Finals and I think it will be difficult for most teams in the East to beat the Pistons in a seven game series. With that being said I think the Pistons will more than likely come out of the East and the Spurs will more than likely come out of the west as they always find a way to win despite when the stakes are the highest.
