Great attractions of England

London, the big city with the big history is a traveler's paradise, full of culture, romance, famous parties and the famous who like to party. But what of the rest of England? London is often seen as the only must see city in the U.K. and the north just a place to pass through on your way to Scotland to visit the set of Braveheart. But there is a definite shift taking place with Liverpool at the centre. The city known the world over for its passionate soccer fans and for being the birthplace of The Beatles" is making a comeback on the tourist trail. The success of the British Open golf tournament last year at The Royal Liverpool and next year seeing it officially being named European Capital of Culture' has seen a rise in the number of visitor's which means more money being invested in the city centre and its surrounding areas. But what does all this mean for your average traveler?

Liverpool is once again the place to be and no matter what it is you are looking for you can find it here.

For Backpackers

The backpacker trail of Europe has long been the Aussie 20 something s dream. Taking in the history and of course the nightlife, but Liverpool was never really seen as attractive as the likes of London, Paris, Amsterdam or Prague. But the nightlife in Liverpool will out do any of its counterparts. Boasting a massive student population means not only are the drinks cheap but every style of music is catered for in all sorts of clubs. From live band venues such as The Cavern Club and Bandwagon which have spawned UK bands The Zutons and The Coral to massive night clubs and of course your typical English boozers all within in walking distance of each other. But the highlight of the year for partygoers has to be august bank holiday weekend (last weekend of August) which signals the end of the summer with two massive nights. Creamfields is a dancer's paradise with some of the world s biggest acts like The Chemical Brothers and The Scissor Sisters providing the entertainment creating an intense all night out door party. The Matthew st festival is a bit more laid back with unsigned acts taking centre stage in almost every bar in town so if your feet aren't up for the all night dancing this is the place for you. Either way if you manage to be there in august one of these venues is a must.

The Beatles

The Beatles are still a massive draw and if you're a fan there is no better way to see what they were all about than going on a magical mystery tour. The tour includes a visit
