I am a "Single Parent' so to speak, although I do not like that term. I prefer to think that I am more than a single mother, I play many roles as the sole provider of my son. The fact that i am single has nothing to do with my parenting ability. I play the role of a mother and a father on a daily basis.

I did not chose this life for myself but I don't think I would have it any other way now. I don't have to share the love with someone else, as strange as that sounds I love the fact that I am the one my son runs to everyday. I am the one he wants to have tuck him in, I am the one he calls for in the middle of the night. Although it can be overwhelming, I love every second that I have him all to myself.

I left my sons father 2 years ago after he again beat me up. I realized that he did this because that is what he had seen as a child and i did not want my son to do the same. I ended the cycle for the sake of my son.

My son is 4 years old and his father was not ever a constant or active person in his life. He has had me and me alone for 4 years. My son is healthy, happy and very smart. He has asked questions of course, and I have told him the truth. God sent him to me and me alone because he is my angel. I am very blessed!
