Christmas as a HOLY DAY will be reclaimed, the Christian will not reclaim it, but Christ himself will reclaim it through us. As it is written, every Knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Christ is lord, for then, everyone shall know what Christmas really is, a HOLY DAY, and not a Holiday as it is known today. As man, we can do our best to keep the tradition, because that is exactly what it has become, but at the same time tell of what a real Christmas day really is.

Christmas as we know it, has become just a mere joyful day, am afraid in both Christian and non-Christian's lives. It is a Holiday and no longer a Holy Day. Family reunions, neighborhood light decorations; contests on who has the best decorated house, all symbols of life and hope. But they are empty, for the meaning of Christmas has been lost with time and trends like father Christmas and presents that come with the season hyper.

What really need to be celebrated is what happened that Christmas day 2000 years ago, and the celebration does not end there, but should continue until his coming. It is when we keep the Christmas spirit every day will the reclaiming take place, because it is in so doing, that the whole world will know about the Christ and the meaning of Christmas as a Holy Day.

Keeping the spirit of advent is a good start, having to wait and expecting always keeps us on our toes because we are alert and stared up at all times. Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, which means coming. And advent in a Christian's life is a period of meditation and preparation of Christ's coming. Just like Christmas day was set by a man, Pope Gregory, set the four Sundays prior to Christmas day as the official advent season. The first Sunday of advent focuses on; HOPE, the second; PEACE, the third; JOY and the fourth; LOVE.

That is why in most wreaths of evergreen, you find four white candles representing four of the gifts of the holy spirit. Now the colors are changing according to your liking, but others are using purple representing Christ's royalty. Just as fashion and technology are evolving so are the Christmas beliefs; a fifth candle has been added in the middle of the wreath, and it is called the Christ candle.

The wreath is made of evergreen twigs, which stay fresh longer, represents God's undying love for us and the pine-cones, seed pods, or nuts in the wreath represents the eternity and our everlasting life in Christ. But, however we celebrate the coming and aftermath of Christmas
