Broaden your horizon

There are many things in life people have coined to be the 'got to have' tool to make things better.They say Aspirin makes headaches better. They say reading books helps the mind.They even say healthy arguing helps a marriage. I am here to convince that learning a learning a musical instrument can help an education a persons' life. I want to show how learning a musical instrument can broaden your horizon..

First of all, this is not a personal vocal belief so even though I am a lover of music I am not coming from that side. I want us to all just imagine for a second you have three types of people. One is an elder man or woman and they are confined to a wheelchair in a nursing home.The second is a troubled teen in high school and never really had good grades on there report card, he or she is about to drop out.The third is an infant and in a home that is not all together. Only raised by one parent and that parent works so really is never home themselves.That infant could grow-up to be another statistic of a child that is not successful because of the environment they are in. Now let us put the option of learning a musical instrument in each of the three peoples' grasp. I am not saying that these three people will dramatically change because of the musical instrument being there. However, it would not hurt to think that to have the addition of a musical instrument somehow made all three of the people at a better advantage to surviving in there individual situation.
It has been studies after studies to connect that using music for elderly,sick, injured people has increased there will power at an substantial rate.I have seen how every time me and my family go sing at the nursing home the elders there light up. They connect not just to us but to the music they hear. There spirits and yes even there health I believe are up lifted. It would be safe for me to assume then that if you took the initiative to give them a choice to learn a musical instrument there spirits and health would increase beyond any doctors' imagination.Learning a musical instrument for an elder would be beneficial physically, mentally, and even spiritually.
There have also been studies to show that kids in school who add a musical class of some sort to there curriculum improve there English and math skills sustainably.Me personally,I will have to say that in trying to listen to classical music while studying,I can say that I did retain the studied information more so than when
