Gosh that will be the day, although this year, I complete paying off a bank loan (after nearly 3 years) and I will be somewhat better off, just in time for Christmas.

I had a major moan at my bank recently, stating I was fed up with the way they had treated, me. I had been employed and had regular money coming in weekly/monthly and on two occasions this year, when i asked for a temporary overdraft facility as my salary would not have cleared in time before I went off on a trip, they had refused my request and I had to draw out from my savings account to cover my overdraft, albeit their was money in the account, just waiting to clear.

I had a telephone conversation with one of the banks members and I just said I was astounded at how I could be treated in such a manner. I only ever had a 50 limit in all the time I was with the bank which is approximately 12 years and also I was about to clear a loan with them, had never defaulted and still I was treated as some sort of criminal when it came to the temporary overdraft facility.

I finally got an overdraft facility which was increased and is now a permanent feature and to top it all I received a bottle of wine for my birthday. Not sure if I will ever get a bank to pay me, but I do not feel that I should have to pay a fee to withdraw my own cash from their dispensing machine (in fact to be perfectly fair, my bank does not charge me) but I know there are plenty of banks that are doing this now.
