Since it is carbon dioxide that attracts the female mosquito, and since you have to breath, here are some ideas to help avoid the pesky ladies.
1. Use unscented products (such as hairspray) and don't wear perfume or cologne. It is thought that the scents might aid in the attraction process.
2. Wear light color clothing. The darker the clothes, the more the mosquitos seemed to be attracted.
3. Try to avoid the dusk and dawn hours when mosquitos tend to be the most active.
4. Wear long pants and long sleeves.
5. Use repellant: try to keep deet products off the skin, instead spray them on the clothing.
The most important thing about keeping mosquitos away is to pour out any standing water. It also helps to spray the yard with a preventative that you can get a your local megamart.
