I was only 18 years old when I found out I was pregnant with my first son. I felt weird and I told my son's father, who was 30 at the time, that I thought I was pregnant. I took an at home pregnancy test and sure enough, it came up positive. I tell you though, that was the longest minute of my entire life. I immediately called my mother and told her.
I knew I had a hard path ahead of me. I ended up leaving my son's father which was a really stupid mistake. I married someone I never loved. My son will be one on November 3rd of 2007. I was young and naive and very stupid. My pregnancy progressed and the more pregnant I became, the more depressed I got. I missed my son's father terribly.
I had two due dates, October 30th and November 6th 2006. He came right in the middle of them. I went into labor at 11:59pm on November 2nd. I laid in the bed and counted contractions from 3:15am to 6:30am when I had to wake my husband up to take a friend of ours that was living with us at the time to work. I got up and got dressed and he said "Where are you going?" I replied "WE are going to the hospital, I am in labor."
So we took our friend to work and went to the hospital. They checked me at 7:00am and I was five centimeters dilated so they said they were keeping me. We started making phone calls. The first person that was called was my sons father. Then my mother of course. Then my sister. Then all the fun began.
It took them three tries to get the IV in my hand. My veins see a needle coming and they hide. They stuck me twice in my right hand and nothing. The nurse evidently got smart and numbed my left hand. She finally got the IV started in that one. So by 9:30am, I had already been stuck by four different needles and I didn't want anymore. They finally took me to my delivery room.
I had woke up at 1:00pm on November 2nd so by 1:00pm November 3rd, I hadn't had sleep in 24 hours. They decided to give me stadol so I would have some sleep. They gave it to me and out I went. I was in and out all day. I remember seeing everybody that was there but I was really disoriented.
Then came my most hated part of the day, my epidural. The doctor had me set up and choose who was going to be in the room with me when I got it done. I looked at my son's father and my husband and said "I'm sorry guys but my mommy is staying in here with me." So she did. The doctor had me lean forward and he numbed my back. It hurt so bad. The first needle in my back was the numbing medicine. The second
