I love to grill! I love to grill steaks! I think my favorite cut of steak is the rib-eye. It has the perfect marble of fat throughout to make the steak juicy and tender during grilling. My marinade consists of soy sauce and honey. I use 1/4 cup of good quality soy sauce and a tablespoon of honey. Lay the cold steak, approximately 1 inch in thickness out on the counter in a shallow dish and let it come to room temperature. Putting cold meat on a hot grill shocks the meat and causes it to curl up and become tough. Put a light dusting of meat tenderizer on both sides of the steak and pour marinade over the steak, let it sit for about 30 minutes. Take these simple steps to a perfect grilled, tender, juicy, mouth watering steak. Place the steak on a hot grill, if your using a gas grill...reduce the heat to medium-low. Let the steak cook 5 minutes per side. Do not keep moving your steak, leave it alone. Close the lid a let it cook for 5 minutes per side. After removing your steak from the grill, cover lightly with an aluminum foil tent..which is a piece of aluminum foil folded into a tent. Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak and Voila'! You have a perfectly grilled, slightly pink in the middle, melt in your mouth steak! Enjoy!
