It's no secret that there is a spiraling decline in societies everywhere, in which humankind has disconnected themselves from that which is good, to readily embrace that which is evil. It seems that itchy ears and an insatiable greed for those things that please the flesh has now taken premise over words of wisdom and being content in whatever state we're in. We live in a world where selfish has replaced selfless. If that isn't enough to open our eyes to the urgent need to return to the precepts of the Bible, then what about the humanistic, god-man, new-age teachings running ramped from border to border in the world as we know it today? "Just think it, and you'll have it." "Be one with the universe, all you need is within one's self," Is today's popular voice. Shame on us!
The most appropriate place to start with regard to voicing my sentiments on this matter would be at the beginning, yes? So, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The word was born of a virgin, becoming Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, "God with us." Yes folks, The Spirit of God, with his creative word, spoke this world into existence. He then left his throne, to humble himself in the flesh of a lamb and die for our sins. The word walked among us and was the life and the light of men. The word made flesh, shone the light in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. Our world was created by the word, and everything that was made, was made by him. The word came unto his own, and his own received him not. But to those who received him, he has given the power to become the sons of God.
The word of God is with power and is the bread of life. God's word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Man in his pride says, "I can do it myself." But the word of God says, "I can do all things through Christ." Go ahead, let us (in our ignorance) continue to worship God in our own way, casting judgment on those who would uphold and live by his word. We'll have our say now, while it is still day, but when it all comes down to it, God's word is going to have the final say. We are all going to be judged by this very word that was made flesh and dwelt among us. We cannot separate God from his word, because they are one in the same.
