There are many ( seven was the initially considered number and acknowledged

to be so ) wonders of thw world...such as Hanging Gardens of Babylone, The

Statue of Zeuss, The Pyramids etc etc.

But What about

The Great Wall of China

The Taj Mahal

The Colosseum.

It appears that often " wonders of the world" get described in different veins

in different write ups. Perhaps it is time for some one to bring out The

Wonders of the ancient world and the Wonders of the Modern world separately.

The wonders of the ancient world can not be compared

to those of modern days. Can the Golden Gate Bridge be in any way compared to

The Great Wall of China or the Pyramids or The Taj Mahal?

Similarly can the sights of Sydney stadium / harbor etc be compared to the

old greats such as the Hanging gardens?

The totally different situations in which these great monuments had been built

make them all unique in their own right.

The facilities,equipment and skills available for modern day wonders were also

not available to the ancients.

We need to be fair enough in evaluating the wonders of the world.

To make a listing and call them only as The Wonders of the World therefore

would be a little lop sided; as technology and human skills evolve into

higher realms of achievement, more and more " wonders " will be generated,

adding a sense of accomplishment and grandeur to human life on Earth.
