The media just loves to crow when a natural supplement has an adverse effect and soon the war cry goes out to have it banned, along with all the other herbs used for thousands of years. Ephedra, a normally safe, effective herb used for dieting and asthma caused, in the last twenty years, approximately 150 deaths. In virtually every case, the dosage taken was many times higher than recommended. What the mainstream media is not reporting is that pharmaceutical drugs alone kill more than 106,000 per year. In fact, more than 783,936 people die every year due to allopathic, or conventional medicine, doctor mistakes, hospital injuries and infections. This number means that our medicine is the NUMBER ONE KILLER in America. Where's the outrage?

While the FDA is responsible for drug safety, it is the pharmaceutical companies that supply the FDA with results from clinical trials, not an independent, non-biased entity.

Herbal medicine has been used since the dawn of mankind, safely and effectively. If people turn to natural alternatives, big pharma stands to lose trillions. They are not in the business to make people well, they'd lose money. This power controls the FDA and the media and will skew facts to keep the public misinformed and over-medicated. There have been doctors who have discovered real cures for cancer and other deadly diseases that have been labeled quacks, persecuted, reviled and ridiculed to the extent that they are ruined. These suppressions of cures results in even more suffering and deaths. All because of greed.

We need to take responsibility for what we put in our bodies. It's easy now to get reliable information on the effects and dosages of herbs and supplements. These are powerful weapons that work to heal, not just treat symptoms as drugs do. The question is: Are you going to fall for the propaganda of big money and their poisons or the gentle healing provided for us by Mother Earth?
