Leo the Lion
Through the jungle air it sounded
The high-pitched tone of crying
All the animals nearby were astounded
It was the roar of Leo the lion
Leo roared his roar in daytime
Leo would groan and whine and sing
The lioness would lash out in Leo in mime
Though she knew Leo would someday be king
The lioness sometimes viciously roared and attacked
For she lacked the skills of Mother Nature
To lion Leo she would inflict a smack
At times undermining his royal stature
However, the lioness loved Leo immensely
I shall raise a wise and noble king
More gentle I shall be, she vowed sincerely
From her forth Leo on me you may cling
Then one day as a very young lion
The lioness let little Leo loose
Little lion, she said, please no more cryin'
For I am now going to reside in the jungle of recluse
Little lion is very brave and strong
He shall grow to someday be king
The lioness bitterly remorse's her wrongs
It is with Leo she longs to dance and sing
Little Leo misses greatly his lioness
His courageous heart seeks daily her face
I must confess, Leo, I am doing my best
Soon I shall walk at a stately pace
Lioness, please may I live with you?
I want to grow in my own land
Little lion, I have much work to do
Soon I shall come and take you by hand
The lioness did solemnly shed a tear
Leo the lion did begin a cryin'
To Leo she said, Listen my dear
A little while longer, I'm a tryin'
As time went by little Leo grew
A palace is what lioness would build for him
Before lioness told Leo, he already knew
For wise is the king, Leo the Lion
