Poetry: Inner peace

Only God gives inner peace
A peace not of this earth
For on this earth we hurt and pain
Reaching for the moon and falling short.

There are just some things no one can truly understand,
We can't even put it all together,
We just know the solace we have sought
Must come from our creator.

That peace is knowing that God is real and His love unfailing,
Resting under His wings and knowing that He will work it out.
His resources are vast and unnumbered
While we are limited and don't know where to turn.

The inner peace that God gives,
Can be compared to none.
It soothes the restless spirit and beings calm,
Even in the midst of life's storms.

That inner peace is lasting
We just believe knowing all will work out well,
We begin to feel enabled
To move on with our lives and its challenges undaunted.

God's peace is like a wind on a hot day,
Refreshing, reviving and renewing,
He sends it just in time,
And no one can take it from us.

The inner peace passes all understanding
There is no earthly formula for it,
All we know is that it does exist
In God's heart of love.
