Does the full moon have any kind of effect on pets? I am inclined to think that is so. After all it does have an effect on me. I love the moon and am pretty much in tune with when full moon is about to occur. Why wouldn't it affect other creatures closer to the natural flow of things than we happen to be? I do know that full moon was one of the heavier foaling times at the thoroughbred farm so to me it makes sense that animals respond to the pull of the moon. I am just not sure what the effects would be.

When I would walk out in the pasture to enjoy the full moon's natural night lighting it always seemed that the animals liked being able to see at night and were having as much fun with it as I was. I don't remember any strange or unusual behavior though. They were more likely to be crazy when a cool spell came along after a heat wave or when it had just snowed or when the wind was blowing. So I think it was maybe more of a psycological effect...we all just enjoyed the extra light time.

Whether this can be proved is up to the animal behaviorists and their ongoing research. Meanwhile until proved wrong I am going to stick with my theory. Oh and full moon is this coming friday:). I can't wait to see it. I know it will be lovely.
