I think that they are more open to newer Ideas, hence there for more apt to be one who views matters through a progressive, as apposed to a conservative prism. This for the most part has held true through out the history of this country, and I see no reason for that to change anytime soon. Remember to be conservative means to be more along the lines of someone who is looking for traditional overview. Where as one who thinks more in a progressive context, generally is looking for change in some part or in a larger way.

Why I myself being 33 and going on 16 would say that I'm most differently left of the road kind of guy. Many as we do get older tend to move more and, more in the direction of seeing the world more black and white, and less as having a lot of gray.
This in turn tends to lend itself to seeing things as not so clear cut and there for minds are perhaps more open to new ideas. On the other hand if someone is more a less settled into more of a mundane hudge drudge of the repetitive lifestyle. Than they seek for the most part to have no change, and there for are apt to think more in the conservative context. Thus those that are older tend to be more right of center.

The Baby boomer generation and there call for change have ushered in what is sure to be the age of the leftist point of view, and we can see that manifest itself in so many ways. From the civil rights movements for African Americans to a more progressive stance on issues such as gay rights, and that of women. The children of the boomer generation will prove to more than likely be more liberal and progressive in there political tastes yet. More over the generation following will even manifest, even more of a view that as is all the more and more progressive as well.

In fact I subject to you that thew only reason that the right has been able to attain power is because they've taken it upon themselves to tether thee ideology to religious fodder. That the party of Lincoln has become quiet the sale out to this interest. Hence they are less likely to see the plight of those of African descent as important. They are less likely to even see the issues that face the gay community as relevant. They may have one the south and its fanatical overture towards the suppression of civil liberties, as they seek little more than a dictatorial moral socialist state. I subject to you that such thinking has a high disdain for the first amendment which I personally as do the majority of sane people in this country.

Yes those that are 20 somethings are more likely to be left of center. That is an ever increasing trend, and one that will see the end one day of the Republican party as we know it today. Why you can even see this reality rearing its head in the current Republican parties primary. For they dare I say have become little more than a party divided. A once famous leader and founder of the party itself saw that division is the undoing of unity when he said as much.

"A house divided amongst itself can not stand"- Abraham Lincoln
