Personally I do not believe that this subject should even be up for debate. We as mothers have all been told that breast milk is the best thing possible for babies yet we are now faced with whether or not we should be allowed to breast feed in public places.
I believe that a women should be able to breast feed her child whenever the infant is hungry and if that happens to be when they are in a public place then so be it. Breast feeding an infant, while not always convenient, is a natural part of life. there is nothing sexual in nature about it and there is nothing disturbing about it.
Why anyone would want to prevent a mother from breast feeding her child is beyond me. Mother's don't always have the choice of waiting until they find a convenient place to breast feed their baby.
Truthfully if any one came up to me and told me that they had a problem with women breast feeding in public, I would probably tell them that if they have a problem with it they shouldn't be watching and then they will have nothing to worry about.
If you are minding your own business, you should not have any problem with breast feeding women, I'd say the most likely reason that these people say that it is inappropriate is because they are embarrassed by it.
Babies are not exactly known for their patience when they want something, especially food. My question to you is this, which would bother you more, hearing a baby cry because they want to be fed, or a women taking the time to breast feed her child?
In my experience most women generally carry a blanket to throw over their shoulder to cover the infant and breast while they are feeding. Most times you can't even tell what is going on under the blanket so truthfully I do not see what the big problem is with women breast feeding in public places, so yes I do think it should be allowed.
