The world we live in is a fast paced technologically centered sphere with to many people and an opinion for every appendage. That said I am going to go on and enlighten you as to the place where I stand.
I feel that people get hung up on definitions. This whole mess could be easily solved by going in and editing the word marriage. Instead of sticking with the degradingly old idea that marriage is a union between a man and a women, that is should be defined as a union between two people. This change may not cause a huge thought readjustment right away but it would effect the generations to come.
This is a war against bigotry and heterosexism that's been locked into the ridiculous religious faiths for generations. It's one thing to be a fundamentalist and to stick to which ever book it is that you ascribe to at the moment, but to use that bound set of leaflets to oppress and beat down a group of people for your own close mindedness is where the problems start.
What is needed is time. In order to break through this resistance, time needs to pass. As the younger, remotely more accepting generation begins to grow and define the world for themselves we head in a positive direction. As time moves forward and the generation of discriminating elders pass on we slowly gain footing towards the next level of acceptance.
I am jealous of the people out there who can define their sexual orientation as bisexual. As I see it, they are able to love the person for who they are, what their personality defines them to be. The mind of their chosen partner plays a larger role in the relationships than the plumbing.
Some consider the act of love making between two people of similar physical genders to be an abomination, a sin against everything good and fluffy in this world and the ones outside of this world. They believe that the god above them created people with the intention of being solely male/female relations wise. How could such a God create something that he is so against? Perhaps a simple change in physical design could have solved this issue? People are quoted saying that the bible states the god hates the gay community. First off, these statements are always taken out of context, you cannot go purely line by line without looking at the overall meaning. Secondly, it comes out of the old testament, which if you claim to take the bible literally means that, slavery is fine, young girls can sleep with their fathers, men should not wear beards (opps jesus
