Lessons of our Lives - Season 1
"According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue" - 2 Peter 1: 3
The past few weeks has been very interesting, challenging and rewarding for me....as I have had the opportunity to invest some quality time with my family due to the recent bundle of joy that was added to us - my gorgeous daughter - Oluwateniolami. I have therefore been temporarily off posting threads on this site. I have been nursing a topic for sometime now and have decided to break it down into a series which I intend to post on this site in next few weeks as we enter the last quarter of this glorious year 2007. I call it the Lessons of our Lives and I believe each post in the series would be a blessing to each life that come across it. I was inspired to do this series due to the experience I have had in the past few months of my life. The motive behind this series is to showcase the fact that everything that will go through in life truly has a positive angle to it - it just depends on your perspective of the situation.
"The classification of a challenge, problem or situation as being good or bad is a function of your perception of the whole scenario - thus there's need to have the right perspective to every situation in life" - Olanrewaju Lewis
The introductory quote to this thread gives a true representation of how every issue, challenge, or situation in life should be assessed. The truth is God has given unto every man, woman, boy or girl ALL that is need to live this life to the fullest in every sense of the word. It takes a conscious effort on our part to develop or groom our beings (mind, soul and body) to a state in which we have the right attitude to everything that comes our way.
The latter part of the verse of Holy writ above talks of the knowledge of him who has called us unto glory and virtue - this is the level we are supposed to operate at ALL times if we truly know Him. He has made available everything needed to attain this level of being in this very life. If we carefully ruminate over this last portion, we would discover that our place in life as human beings irrespective of our race, colour, language, political inclination, religious affiliation is in glory and virtue. It takes an extra effort to attain this and it is not impossible really - it is up to us if it is to be anyway.
