Lying, stealing, and cheating. These are aspects that significantly reduce a persons chances of being accepted and getting the job. How can a company or business trust someone that commits these offenses? They can't.
If you went into work and told your boss that you were late because your car had a problem, they might just try and do some background information to find out if your car really did have a problem that day. How bad would you look if you got caught lying? The most likely result is that you would get fired.
Stealing something is against federal law. So is cheating (plagiarizing). Generally the first thing running through the bosses mind is, "YOU'RE FIRED!" Next usually comes, "Why did they do it?" Maybe they did it because they are having bad money problems. Maybe they were just greedy. Who knows. Just getting caught taking something that isn't yours and being fired is much better than also having to go to jail. You'll be lucky if you don't go to jail.
What is it about human nature that makes us go against that which we know is wrong? In the end, it doesn't benefit us anyway. Why do it in the first place? Doing ANYTHING dishonest in the workplace basically means that you are getting a one way straight ticket to getting fired and/or some jail time.
