Poetry: First love

The Untold Story.

The love we shared went away.
It's too bad you couldn't stay.
I loved you to the ends of the earth.
Just as if I'd given you birth.
The memories we shared will never be forgotten and the things we did were quite splendid.

The day we first met was all just a bet.
I was the ugly duckling and you were dared to do the plucking.
A spark had been lit. As your friends laughed and called you a twit.
You fell for me and I for you; but what could we do.
It was not love at first sight but when you opened your eyes and seen the light.
It was plain to see that we were meant to be.
Time went by fast and now your in the past.

So long my first and only love.
