The question of which is deadlier Hurricanes or Tornadoes. In my thoughts, it would have to be Tornadoes. Tornadoes would have to be one of the most impressive forces of Mother Nature even more than a hurricane. Reason being tornadoes are one of the most unpredictable forces that Mother Nature can throw. Hurricanes can be tracked and predicted. A tornado F-5 wind speeds are categorized at 261-315 mph a category 5-hurricane wind speeds reach up to 156 mph. In addition, one of the biggest reasons a hurricane becomes destructive is because of tornadoes that spawn from it. Tornadoes are also alot more common during the year than a hurricane. Tornadoes tend have a mystery to them. Old stories of people being picked up and then gently let down 100 yards away, but everything has been leveled or one church is leveled, but then the one across the street is perfectly fine. To where a hurricane its main destructive force is the rise in water causing flooding. Tornadoes also tend to have a much more psychological effect than hurricanes do. Being stationed down south, I have heard of the many hurricane parties and which I took pleasure in while being there, but you never hear of a tornado party. For how small of an area a tornado hits and causes its destruction the tornado is much more destructive. Hurricanes although covers a larger area and becomes more costly because of size are not nearly as destructive. To add a surprising comparison the hurricane and tornado is like two different bullets. The 22 caliber and the 308 one being bigger and one being smaller. Unbelievably the 22 is one of the deadliest or in better terms most destructive bullet that there is. The 22 hits a target, but then bounces around and becomes unpredictable a lot like a tornado. The 308 also very deadly, but it often passes through its target and stays its course a little more predictable a lot like the hurricane. Not only do tornadoes bring heavy winds, but one of the key factors in knowing a tornado is coming is often if gives you a slight warning sign which would be hail. Therefore, not only is it the wind, the rotation, and its destructive path, but also in a larger area large hail often is reported with tornadoes causing havoc and more destruction. Hurricanes are typically lots of rain and sometimes heavy winds. In my time, here on earth, I have had the opportunity to experience both and I would say tornadoes for their size are a lot more destructive than hurricanes.
