The world's strangest creatures

The world's strangest creature is probably the elusive Jackalope. A few of these specimens have been mounted by taxadermists, but in the wild, the Jackalope has been sighted less times than Michael Jackson without a mask! Their domain is uncertain, and the world's population is said to be less than one-thousand, and that includes all of the stuffed ones on the mantles in redneck bars. You would think that Greenpeace would try to get the Jackalope declared as an endangered species, but it really isn't that easy. Here's why...

The Jackalope isn't a species unto itself. Rather, it is a hybrid mix between a jackrabbit and an an antelope. The result is a rabbit with antlers. No, really! Just how they breed is a bit of a mystery, but it has been suggested that the male jackrabbit drinks a Red Bull and... You get the message; that stuff gives you wings.

Hunters are generally confused about the type of gun best suited for bagging a Jackalope. Most animals with antlers are hunted with a rifle, but rabbits and other small game are usually chased by beagles and hunted with a shotgun. In all of their infinite wisdom, the National Rifle Association has proposed a compromise: Jackalopes are to be hunted with a shotgun loaded with rifled slugs. Now I'm confused!

Until recently, I though the Chupacabra was the strangest creature roaming our planet. Then I saw a stuffed Jackalope over the fireplace at Dick's Bar and Grille. Here's a suggestion: there are plenty of Jackalope pictures on the internet. Once you've seen one, you'll be a believer. This, my friends, is the strangest creature you'll ever see!
