I prefer to visit New York in the early spring and fall for many reasons. First, even though NYC attracts many tourists all year round, during these months, there are fewer tourists on the streets and in museums. The reason is simple: students and parents with children get busy with school. Another reason is that the weather between seasons becomes milder, which favors travelers. Third, in my eyes, NYC's spectacular views look more fresh and appealing when framed by the freshness of spring or the brilliant colors of autumn.

As I already mentioned, spring is a beautiful time to visit the Big Apple because of the warm and sunny weather. In particular, it is a wonderful, romantic time to express your feelings to your loved one during this adventure. If you find yourself in the city in springtime, visit Central Park, the Botanical Garden, any flower or Easter shows; you will enjoy the splendid, delicate spring colors and feel a burst of energy. One disadvantage is that the weather is not stable, and it might be quite chilly and windy.

Spending your summer vacation in the Big Apple can be more of a challenge because of NYC's abundant flow of visitors who gather in long lines for tickets and attractions. The swarm of tourists builds even more traffic than usual. In addition, the popularity of traveling to NYC in the summer drives up hotel rates and creates a shortage of places to stay. In addition to the crowds, you need to contend with the heat. Summers in a big city full of people, cars, concrete and construction can be hot. The benefit of a summer vacation in New York is that parents with children are able to spend more time on trip, and it is the perfect time to take a river cruise.

The Pros of visiting the Big Apple in the fall are that the weather is often still warm, you'll see wonderful fall colors and spend less time waiting in line for attractions. When traveling in the fall, visit Forest Park in Queens and hike or bike to New York's Forest Preserve; you will have some great picture taking opportunities. Con: weather can be unpredictable and rainy as well.

Winter in NYC is full of lights, holiday music, decorations, store window displays and joy that put everyone in a festive mood. It's time to shop for Christmas or Valentine's gifts; practically unlimited shopping can be a great reason to visit New York. Come to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Big Apple with fireworks, music and all of the famous Times Square activities. The biggest disadvantage of visiting NYC in winter is that you'll encounter cold weather with some occasionally difficult driving due to poor weather conditions, and you will spend more money on lodging and tickets around big holidays.

Anyway, why consider the best time of year? Just pick your favorite time and go!
