Where there is a culture, you will always find a different style of dress. I do not follow trends, I incorporate what I like and delete what does not appeal to me when choosing my wardrobe. I mix fashion from different eras together and in doing so I have my own sense of style. Fashion trends of today are a repeat of yesterday only in a bolder or more subtle color, or a softer or bulkier fabric. The shape of the heel of a shoe or the width of a belt is dictated to us via catwalks, fashion magazines, and celebrities. Some fashion conscious bodies play it safe by sticking to the classics others take risk and experiment while the unimaginative follow the norm, the fashion trend of today. Designers this Fall/Winter tell us we don't need the fireplace to keep us warm and cozy just follow the trend of the chunky sweater.

Designers, Alexander McQueen likes the large cowl neck, 12th Street Cynthia Vincent works with cashmere, while Theorie Tootsie sports the new tweed cardigan. The in colors for this season are; Grey the new black in rich hues of charcoal and anthracite in luxury fabrics, also green in olive and emerald, as well as a continuation of colors from this past summer'07. These are just a few of trends one can follow this season, as for me, I will create my own trends from my palette of colors and styles of many eras and be the setter not the follower of trends.
