Poetry: Rape

Dark Innocence..

In the darkness of the deepest night, the fear creeps on in,
The memories of the pain and the trauma of the brokenhearted cannot possibly win.

Eyes closing to rest in peace doesn't exist in the depths of despair.
To find solace in the morning is but vanishing thin air.

Can the demons hide from the wandering soul, or do they linger all the day.
Can the torture find hope anywhere along the way.

Is there a door that reaches to heaven to lead me to the light,
Or is it lingering pain that drenches the soul each and every night.

Is there someone there to show me the ultimate way from despair,
Will someone with a true heart, really ever care?
