In my experience as a mother of 6, simple things work best. For instance, using cornstarch or baby powder with cornstarch in it worked wonders! It was a staple that was kept in the car, house and diaper bag. Regular baby powder irritated the skin, became gummy and smelled after awhile. The cornstarch keeps the baby cool by absorbing the sweat. It washed off easily and didn't get gummy, nor did it irritate the skin. 1oo% cotton blankets and t-shirts are also beneficial. The cotton absorbs moisture so putting it in car seats, swings, against other people and basically anywhere the baby's skin will be pressed against for a long period of time will benefit the baby. Cotton also breathes unlike synthetic materials. I would stay away from those such as satin, silk, polyester and the like. A misting spray that contains awauphui or aloe vera will cool the skin and help keep it moisturized. If it isn't necessary, don't apply lotion at all or apply it very lightly. If your baby is at the stage where it will drink water then let him or her have some. Moderately, of course. Last but not least, a loose hat or bonnet with a wide brim will keep the head cool and shield the baby's face from the sun. Please excuse prior article it was not complete.
