The Reality of Video Games
There's just one thing that irks me about somebody who plays video games for more than half a day...
Does that person know what they're actually doing?
Alright, here's the deal. When Playstation first came out (granted it was originally called PSX and changed to PS1 when the PS2 made its debut) I was all over it like it was my only source of happiness and in a way, it was. I didn't really ever read and I wasn't as much of a writer as as I am now. Plus, I had a friend on the street who was a "hard core gamer" so I got to see every big game that was out there, watch as he played the whole thing through without saves (and several times in a row), and learned to play them just as well as he.
But in today's stand, video games aren't just the "big thing" anymore. Now we have all of these other gaming systems, plus computers on top of it all, and all sorts of music technologies as ever thought possible. It's so much as just another common thought of entertainment that I'm standing here, realizing no body even knows what the video game really is.
Now yes, I used to be a hard core gamer and spend nearly my every waking minute on the thing but I still went outside to do things. I may have had a friend come to my house to play Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, or Final Fantasy, but we still went outside and did other things such as basketball or skating. Today you see hardly anyone going outside (unless they're not fortunate enough to own a video game system) and they're spending their lives playing games such as Warcraft (aka: Warcrack). Computers have taken the soul of games back and now if you want to play a really good game, it's strictly on the computer.
But all these people are doing is running numbers. Whenever I see a video game in action these days I see mathematical equations in processes, simply mathematical equations working through mathematical equations. To be technical, a video game is consisted of valuables, algorithms, mathematical equations, and a whole slew of programming. People playing these games are just simply playing a sequence of numbers in working order so much so that when a game error pops up, say for example, you go into a room to boost some health to your practically dead figure and a message pops up saying "Error 1689752: This is not an active script." You go berserk!
Now I know as well as any individual who knows about gamers, the player's going to get crazy and immediately scan the Internet or
