Comic books: Where have all the heroes gone?

Is there anything better for a young girl than reading about Wonder Woman flying in her invisible Jet. I love to read about Storm and Rogue from the X-men. It is good to have powerful woman as hero's for girls. Are they disappearing? That is too bad for kids in general. I loved being under the apple trees in my yard growing up and reading comic books. That is how I learned the story about Moby Dick.

Whereas, Mom's are famous for throwing out comic books, this mom has a love for them. The hero's teach good values. Perhaps that may be the problem of society today. No real heros. Sure they have the WWF and RAW, but what kind of role models are they? Always talking big and conceited; always threatening. I don't think that is what a hero is about.

Who didn't want to be Aquaman? Being able to swim under water and talk to the fish via mind waves. Who wouldn't want to ride on a giant sea horse and command all of the creatures of the sea. Of course all of the crime had to take place in the sea.

The Justice League of America! They taught patriotism and fighting for what is good and right. It would be a shame if someone like Sponge Bob took over for Iron Man. It would be terrible if The Simpson's took over for Superman. Was there anything more thrilling to hear than "Look up in the sky...it's a bird...it's a plane...It's Superman"

All of the hero's were American Hero's. All of them fought against the evil that would hurt the people and this country. They were good hero's and it would be a shame to lose them.
