I attribute some of the success I have had to only a handful of teachers from my past. I had some good teachers, who cared and who were able to help me see that learning their topics was fun, hard and worth while.
If I had only mediocre to poor teachers, of which I had plenty, I would have even less accomplished than I do.
But the teachers, who knew their topic, could present it and help others comprehend as opposed to regurgitate have made a life long impact on me.

These are the same teachers who came prepared to their classes. Who, look back I see now, took their job as serious and fun at the same time.

I believe that if any country, with any level of advancement, has teachers of that caliber that the students flourish, the community flourishes and as a result, the nation flourishes.

Whether it is the Math teacher who teaches us how to think. Or the literature teacher who taught the enjoyment of reading. We can all prosper, regardless. It starts with preparation, caring and a sense of wanting to constantly improve.

These are life lesson we can all use. And it was taught to me in school by the very same ones who practiced them.

Imagine how much better we all would be better off, if more schools had more of the teachers that actually had an honest impact on our lives. It would be great if all schools every where had access to such a talented level of professional. I am grateful for those I had. And wonder, what if more teachers were that way, how much better could school have been?
