Software reviews: Adobe Premier Elements 4

by Tom Sholtz

Created on: October 18, 2007

Being a designer that has used PhotoShop CS many times before, I was sadly disappointed while using Elements. PhotoShop CS has many more tools available to the user and many color alteration tools as well. With Elements, one feels like the program can do the job, but won't do the job.

For instance, when I was editing a business sign for a local business, I was using one of their computers. I noticed that it had Adobe Elements on it, so I began to try it out. For about four hours I sat trying to make the program perform a simple mask! This program is better suited for a person who doesn't design a for a living.

The basic editing isn't bad, but you don't have as many choices with layer editing, or masking. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who will do a lot of photo editing in the future, but for someone who wants to fiddle around with a photo, Elements is for you.1/5 Stars!
