It is better to buy a store bought computer.
There are some things to keep in mind that pretty much sell it all to you.
1.Warranty
2.No Build
3.No operating system to install/register/buy
4.all parts are the same age
5.help/support desks
If you are looking to have everything just right there and ready to go, get the bundled monitor and complete pc.
If you are looking for buying a motherboard the right ram and or matching stick, and video card and sound card addon and wifi card add on, the right hard drive(s) and case and fan(s) and cd/dvd/dvd-r+r drives then buy the right tower and cooling for processor and the processor it's self, do all this without creating some sort of bottleneck due to improper bus speeds and drive spin speeds and or cache sizes , after spending what now is going to be 500 minimum now days for fair/decent you still have to shell out for vista. install it and wonder if you should register the install or crack it because you know that microslob tends to not let you re-register your install once it has been installed before. When you buy it prefabbed you do not have to worry about replacing parts and having the circus and hoops to jump through if you have to ever do a re-install of the operating system, because it is probably going to be under warranty.
plus all the parts might actually match when you buy prefabbed.
good luck.
