We live in a world of convenience. We rely on fast paced options to get us through our day and to shave a few minutes of tasks here and there through out the day. However, when is a time saving option not the best option? When it comes to coffee.

The rise in coffee consumption has been dramatic over the past decade or two. Coffee shops are popping up on street corners all around the world. Coffee is now more available in a variety of options than it ever has been. Along with the rise of consumption there has also been a rise in the types of coffee that are available to the average consumer. Why make the trip to your local coffee house when you can now get coffee of the same or better quality at your local grocery store?

With all of the options on the market today, it is amazing that instant coffee is still around. Sure, it will save you a few minutes by not having to grind your coffee beans (if you buy whole beans, that is), pour some water into your coffee machine, and hit the "On" switch. Drinking instant coffee with all of the better options out there is like choosing to eat a fast food burger when there is a gourmet place next door having a special on their burgers. There isn't much of a price difference, little time is saved, and the quality difference is extremely noticeable.
