As far as I am concerned, this is an issue that should have been brought up far sooner. I have always wondered what made buses so special that the were not required to have seat belts.

Motorcycles aside, every other vehicle has seat belts and the law requires their drivers and passengers to wear them. If anything I would think that buses should have even stricter standards considering the number of people that ride them every day.

I know that to me, my children's safety is the most important thing in the world to me. I would feel much better knowing that my children were being made to wear seat belts on the bus.

We are constantly told that seat belts save lives, so I have a question for you, are not the lives of your children worth saving? I believe that there would also be other benefits to enforcing seat belts in buses, it would keep the children in their seats.

One of the major problems and distractions that bus drivers face every day, is when the students can not stay in their own seats. you constantly have issues of children fighting on the bus as well because someone has left their seat to go talk to another student Who has purposely sat far away.

Having the children on the bus wearing seat belts would eliminate a large part of the problems on school buses. As I said before our children's safety should come first and I think that seat belts should be made mandatory for buses as well.
