Video game reviews: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The History
Well the series of Grand Theft Auto started ten years ago now back in 1997 with the original game 'Grand Theft Auto' which was released for PC and PlayStation. This was a controversial success with the violent manner of the game both appealing to the younger age group who were not allowed it and worrying the older generatino you didn't want their children to have it. This is certainly still the way the same is seen today with it's violence not making many friends with parents. The first two games, GTA and GTA II were both in 2D which made them obviously less graphically pleasing but still the same basic jist of the game.

The real breakthrough for RockStar games with this series came with the release of the PlayStation 2 and the new 3D version of the game: Grand Theft Auto III. The extra dimension added amazing realism in comparison to the previous two games and made it again very popular and it opened loads more doors of possibility for ways forward for the game. This is definitely something RockStar Games have done very effectively. They haven't just replicated the same game with different names and locations, they have added as much realism into the games as they could.
The release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City saw the second 3D game come out and changed location, upgrade of vehicles and abilities and it was another romping success. The series of games have always been one of the most played and loved games by PlayStation and Xbox owners.

Pre-Release Hype
There was a lot of information coming out about amazing new features being incorperated into this game that before had seemed impossible and they were things you were going to live to accept that couldn't happen. Then they suddenly said that they were doing it, and the new game had it all, it certainly got everyone who had played the last games, and even those who hadn't a bit excited.

I remember I was waiting for it to be released for ages just waiting for the day that I ccould get my hands on it and when my dad came home from work with it a week before release date I was extatic! I grabbed it and ran upstairs shoved it in the PlayStation and I was off... never to let go of that PlayStation 2 controller for another few weeks. Well not quite literally but almost. In my eyes, best game ever!
The Game

Storyline
The storyline to this game is fantastic, they incredible attention to detail that the writers for this have paid to make it link amazingly well with GTA III and Vice City and if you've played the
