The reason I write is not because I need to jot down my stored up feelings or because I'm bored or because I might get paid. I write because of how my heart flutters when I put the first few words down, how my hand aches after holding a pen for so long, and how I can't help but smile when I'm finally finished. I write because my survival depends on it. It's a passion that has overtaken me; like a cancer or an intoxicating drug. It's buried itself in my heart and my soul. I am no longer just a girl, I am a writer. I am someone who puts my thoughts into words so others can put my words into actions. I don't want to write a few words that you will forget, I want you to feel my words as they enter your ears and then fill your heart. When you read my words I hope you feel what I'm feeling right now - that sensation that makes your whole body feel warm and giddy. To smile as I smiled and to laugh as I laughed. I want you to listen and understand. I want you to read my words and remember me, not as myself, but as someone who created a world of imagination and wonder. I write to you - someone that does not know me as I am but knows me for who I can be.
The words on my paper flow off the page into a painting. The pastels tell a story and the colors make a memory. Smell the ocean breeze, feel the ground quake beneath your feet, touch the rain as is drips down your cheeks and hear the soft breathe of the wind against your ears. See what I see, hear what hear and feel what I feel. As you read, I will show you my dreams, my inspirations and my fears. You will quickly realize that in my world you are royalty; you have power - over where you are and what you see, and over when the sun rises and when the sun sets.
With my words, the waves will bow down to you and the stars will bare witness to you very existence. I have given you a bridge into my sanctuary to escape to when your world falls apart and when your reality collapses. I want you to experience all that I am giving you. I want you to have all that I am; my words, my voice, my world.
