Turning 16 is a big deal to most. Being given more responsibilities, getting a step closer to being out in the world, and to most 16 year olds, driving their first car.
Many teens dream of having an amazing party, getting recognized by their peers and having their first car.

So, you want to have a great 16th birthday party right? First of all, you need to plan! Since this is obviously a very important occasion and many sweet 16's care about making a good impression, you want to be prepared and think ahead. Make sure to buy invitations and get them to your party guests at least 3 weeks in advance. After all, whats a party with no one there?

Have a theme for your party. Nothings more fun than having your guests walk into a well decorated, themed bash. It also helps center the mood, atmosphere, and fun. If you have money to spare, hiring a decorator, party coordinator or planner isn't a bad idea. Even if you're on a budget you can still get creative and find many items to spice up your party, making it truly one to be remembered.

Find a good venue to host your party. Many venues will work with you to fit your style and budget. Make sure that it has a good sound system- since having good music makes a party great. Hiring a DJ is a good choice, and they are not too pricey either.

On your big night, you want to arrive in style, depending on your theme and overall atmosphere, you want to dress to impress. Make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to get ready, arrive at your party and check on all the elements to make sure there are no problems.
In the end, all that matters is relaxing, enjoying the time with your friends and making memories that will last a lifetime. Maybe you'll even encounter a few surprises, parents can be quite crafty at those things. After all, a Sweet 16 only comes once in your life.
